New Horizons has developed School to Work Transition Programs to help students with special needs meet the unique challenges they face when entering the adult job market. We develop training curriculums in conjunction with educators to meet the needs of students. We work with sophomores, juniors, and seniors providing skills that include resume preparation, job shadowing experiences, job placement and work place readiness training.

New Horizons staff will help students examine their interests, goals and talents offering insight on how school subjects relate to the world of work. Students participate in field trips to businesses and meet employers in the community as a way of assisting them in finding and keeping jobs. Staff is also available to introduce and arrange for post-secondary educational and vocational options. Through support and encouragement, we are able to teach self-advocacy and independence.
